Editions Art & Design, Dubai

WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR AT THIS YEAR’S FAIR

As Dubai Design Week returns this November, the city once again becomes a hub for creativity, collaboration, and cultural dialogue. Among the highlights is Editions, the Middle East’s first fair dedicated to limited-edition art and design. Running alongside Downtown Design on the d3 Waterfront Terrace, Editions has quickly established itself as a vital platform within the region’s design calendar, one that bridges the worlds of collectible art, contemporary design, and craftsmanship.

Bringing together over 50 regional and international galleries, studios, and collectives, the fair offers a rare opportunity to engage with one-of-a-kind and limited-edition works spanning photography, ceramics, prints, furniture, and sculpture. More than a marketplace, Editions celebrates the intersection of creativity and collectability, offering new audiences the chance to discover and invest in the next generation of contemporary makers.

At The Fluxx, we’re particularly excited to explore this year’s showcase, a dynamic mix of established and emerging talent redefining the boundaries between art and design. Below, we share a selection of galleries and studios to look out for during Editions 2025, each contributing to the growing dialogue of creativity across the Middle East and beyond.

Superbia Domus, Dubai

Founded in 1995, Superbia Domus is a sculptural lighting and design studio renowned for its collective pieces, fine furniture, and bespoke lighting, all meticulously crafted in Italy. Rooted in classical tradition yet driven by innovation, the studio transforms functional objects into bespoke masterpieces, each tailored to the client’s vision and aesthetic.

For Superbia Domus, quality is never optional—it is a standard, reflected in the precision of its craftsmanship, the elegance of its forms, and the enduring sophistication of its designs. Through this commitment, the studio continues to redefine how light, furniture, and sculpture can intersect to create immersive, sculptural experiences.

Urbanist Art Gallery, Dubai

Urbanist Art Gallery continues to champion creative dialogue between international and local voices, offering a welcoming platform that connects communities through the lens of contemporary art.

For Editions 2025, the gallery presents Levantine 2.0, a continuation of its celebrated exhibition from last year. This new chapter delves deeper into the evolving artistic narratives emerging from Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Palestine, uniting photography, works on paper, limited-edition prints, ceramics, digital art, and contemporary design.

Highlighting both established and emerging talents, Levantine 2.0 captures the region’s layered identities—its rich cultural heritage, shifting modern realities, and the nuanced perspectives of its diaspora. Through this collection, Urbanist Art fosters a space for creative experimentation and cross-generational dialogue, inviting viewers to experience fresh interpretations of belonging, identity, and memory within a global context.

Duali, Ahmedabad

Duali is a distinctly creative tabletop brand that celebrates artistry and meaningful design for discerning collectors. Each piece is a conversation starter, balancing tradition and innovation, simplicity and complexity, and inviting users to experience the beauty of duality in everyday objects.

For Editions 2025, Duali debuts two limited-edition collections: The Uninvited Guest and Seamless Sip. These are far more than conventional tableware—they are handcrafted works of art, embodying the highest level of creativity and technical skill. Alongside these collections, the brand presents its slimmest and lightest porcelain pieces ever, demonstrating a meticulous attention to form, material, and craftsmanship. Each piece reflects Duali’s commitment to artistry, innovation, and tactile beauty.

RARARES Gallery, Dubai

Founded by Marina Basel, RARARES Gallery has become a champion of contemporary art that transcends boundaries—blending mediums, provoking thought, and evoking emotion in equal measure. From its base in Dubai, the gallery continues to support both emerging and established artists whose work embodies originality, conceptual depth, and the transformative potential of art.

For Editions 2025, RARARES unveils a thoughtfully curated presentation of emerging multidisciplinary artists working across textile, cyanotype, print, and ceramic media. The exhibition explores the balance between meticulous craftsmanship and contemporary expression, capturing the creative energy of Dubai’s new generation of artists and their dialogue with cultural heritage.

Through this edition, RARARES celebrates tactility, technique, and storytelling, offering an engaging perspective on how material and process can transform artistic narratives into tangible, edition-based forms.

Ila Colombo, Dubai

A multidisciplinary artist, design strategist, and AI collaborator, Ila Colombo operates at the intersection of design, art, architecture, and technology. Her practice integrates generative AI, spatial computing, and advanced fabrication, resulting in sculptural systems, installations, and immersive experiences that explore the relationships between voice, rhythm, and code.

As Co-Director of Ross Lovegrove Studio and CEO & Co-Founder of DEOND, a Dubai-based AI and 3D practice, Colombo’s work is rooted in human-centric innovation and circular, adaptive design. A RIBA member, AUD board advisor, and global lecturer, she contributes to ongoing research surrounding the role of AI within the creative industries, pushing the boundaries of how technology can enhance artistic intent.

For Editions 2025, Colombo presents a selection of digital, sculptural, and mixed-media works that investigate thresholds of transformation—capturing ephemeral moments where forms, systems, and boundaries remain in constant flux. Through this body of work, she invites viewers to engage with the dynamic interplay between the physical and the digital, the human and the algorithmic.

As Editions continues to shape the dialogue between art, design, and collectability in the Middle East, this year’s fair promises a dynamic celebration of creativity in its most tactile, expressive, and boundary-pushing forms. From sculptural lighting and contemporary craft to experimental ceramics, digital art, and conceptual design, our curated selection offers just a glimpse of the exceptional talent redefining the region’s creative landscape.
