Beyond Boundaries: Mayfair Design District Returns for 2025 with Its Most Disruptive Programme Yet
Where irreverence meets sophistication, this autumn the Mayfair Design District (MDD) returns with Beyond Boundaries, a bold curatorial theme that reimagines what a design destination can be. Running from 12th September to 31st October 2025, the programme anchors London’s cultural season, coinciding with The London Design Festival, London Fashion Week, PAD London, and Frieze. Now in its ninth edition, MDD 2025 promises a collision of provocation and elegance, uniting over 60 global brands, institutions, and artists across London’s most storied neighbourhood. From collectable furniture and radical hospitality to immersive art experiences, Mayfair cements its role as one of the world’s most influential cultural districts.
As part of The Fluxx Editors’ Picks, we highlight some of the must-see projects and events shaping Mayfair’s cultural calendar this year.
A Movement, Not Just a District
Founded in 2017 by James Malcolm Green and joined in 2023 by Anne-Laure Pingreoun, Mayfair Design District has grown into one of London Design Festival’s defining destinations. “When we launched MDD, it was a bold idea with a few passionate partners. Eight years later, it’s a thriving cultural platform with a global audience,” says Green. Pingreoun adds: “Beyond Boundaries is a call to dismantle the walls, literal and metaphorical, that have long shaped the creative world. We are celebrating those who choose to work in the grey areas, the unexpected overlaps, the places where design, art, hospitality and fashion intersect with irreverence and purpose.”
