Le Grand Mazarin, Paris
In the heart of the Parisian Marais
Located at the corner of rue des Archives and rue de la Verrerie, in the heart of Paris, the first urban hotel in the collection embodies the audacity and cosmopolitan eclecticism that are emblematic of the Marais. Joyful and flamboyant, Le Grand Mazarin is a jewel of elegance where different styles and eras meet, with a touch of humour.
For its first five-star hotel in Paris, Maisons Pariente has chosen a district adored by Parisians and travellers from all over the world: the Marais. Sitting at the corner of Rue des Archives and Rue de la Verrerie, Le Grand Mazarin honours the heritage of Paris, its love of the arts and its nonstop conviviality. Le Grand Mazarin embodies the spirit of Maisons Pariente: a relaxed and chic luxury which radiates simplicity and warmth at the same time. The unique décor bears the imprint of Martin Brudnizki, founder of the internationally acclaimed MBDS Design Studio in London.
Le Grand Mazarin: A Lavish Parisian Fantasy With A Quirky Soul
Just steps from the Marais’ charming cobbled lanes and independent galleries, and mere minutes from the Seine’s shimmering edge, Le Grand Mazarin is a jewel box of eccentric Parisian, 5 star hotel opulence. While the surrounding 4th arrondissement hums with energy—cafés spilling into sun-drenched squares, boutiques packed with curated objets and rare books—this hotel offers something rarer still: a storybook escape into luxurious whimsy.
Surrealist Toile de Jouy Interiors
Designed by Martin Brudnizki, the celebrated interior maestro behind many of the world’s most atmospheric spaces, Le Grand Mazarin feels less like a traditional hotel and more like an eccentric aristocrat’s townhouse lost in time. In the 61 rooms, including 14 suites, the decor plays with discrepancies to create a grandiose universe, both whimsical and delightfully warm.
“I love the concept of an old-fashioned literary salon, and salonnières were one of the main sources of inspiration when we designed Le Grand Mazarin. We wanted the hotel to feel as if it had always been part of the Marais landscape, so we drew inspiration from the grand Maisons of the aristocratic era, where leading figures in literature, art and music would gather to indulge in the pleasure of fine conversation. Our concept for Le Grand Mazarin was to revive this atmosphere and adapt it to contemporary times, where guests feel at home and have the freedom to express themselves” - Martin Brudzinski
Every room is a design revelation: pastel palettes, toile de Jouy with a wink, surrealist portraits, and antique flourishes sit effortlessly alongside modern indulgences. Each suite tells a different story, yet all speak the same charming language—one of theatrical comfort and cultivated fantasy.
Design collaboration includes Maison Pierre Frey for fabrics, Maison Lucien Gau for bronzeworks, Henryrot & Cie for furniture, Art de Lys for tapestry canopies, Pinton 1867 for rugs and Ateliers Gohard for paintings.
Indoor Swimming Pool
Beneath the velvet-cloaked parlours and storybook library lies one of the hotel’s most remarkable secrets: a dramatically tiled indoor swimming pool, lit with an ethereal glow. It’s more grotto than gym—an oasis that offers guests a dreamlike plunge away from the heat of Parisian summers and the clamour of the city above.
Unique Hospitality
Whether sipping something rare in the jewel-toned bar or wandering through halls lined with curiosities, guests are immersed in a curated fantasy where every detail is deliberate—and deliciously unexpected.
The Restaurant Boubalé
Boubalé tells the story of a love affair with cooking that goes back to the dawn of time.
Travelling from the farthest reaches of the Levant to the Marais district of Paris, Boubalé has not lost the essence of this journey: the taste for sharing. Boubalé is the affectionate name for ‘my little doll, my little darling’ in Yiddish, which is what the two co-founders of Maisons Pariente were called as children by their grandmothers.
Boubalé tells a story of diversity and tradition between Europe and the Middle East. The sun-drenched flavours of the Mediterranean meet the spices and traditional recipes of the Levant, Turkey to be precise, where each dish symbolises the union of two continents and their delicious gastronomy. Cumin, mint, paprika, parsley and sumac combine and mingle joyfully, creating a mosaic of colourful flavours.
Boubalé is all about grandmothers. The ones who share their love and know-how through their cooking, making each blend of spices a heart-warming story of sharing. Grandmothers who draw on their heritage and their memories, and who are the true guardians of these traditions and secret recipes. With them, everything becomes a game of balance and flavour, and with Boubalé, all these memories come to life again.
Boubalé’s brunch shines with bold mixology pairings, Mediterranean flavours, and the vibrant colours of the Orient. Served in three acts, this seated brunch reimagines timeless classics with a fresh twist, elevated by spices from across the Levant, for a full rediscovery of the senses.
Inspired by recipes passed down through generations, refined and reasserted, Boubalé’s brunch is a celebration of togetherness and culinary creativity, honouring the art of sharing.
Join us every Sunday from 12 PM to 3 PM, in a sumptuous setting infused with Byzantine charm.
Le Bar de Boubalé
The atmosphere works its magic, offering moments of divine tranquillity or vibrant excitement. The warm, chic decor provides the ideal setting for endless world-watching and sharing the joy of conversation late into the night. Named by Time Out magazine as the most eco-friendly bar of 2023, it’s a delight to discover a daring and tasty mixology. Clever blends are crafted for surprising cocktails such as the “Chouchou” and the “Sababoush”.
Just past the hotel’s library and adjacent to the restaurant Boubalé, the bar reveals itself in an intimate alcove framed by painted ceilings and soft lighting. Plush velvet banquettes, marble-topped tables and antique mirrors reflect the signature eclecticism of interior designer Martin Brudnizki, whose vision infuses the space with both charm and character.
It’s a space in Paris where guests unwind, celebrate, and connect, whether over a seasonal cocktail, a rare spirit or a carefully selected glass of wine. The cocktail list changes regularly, with each creation guided by seasonal produce, house-made infusions and subtle references to Levantine traditions, a nod to the menu at Boubalé. The bar menu reflects the same sense of character and taste that defines the rest of the hotel, with unexpected pairings and stories in every sip.
