Founded in Milan in 2003 by Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran, Dimorestudio has long been celebrated for its emotionally evocative interiors, which blend historical references with modern storytelling. With the La Dolce Vita Orient Express, they bring that philosophy to life on rails, transforming the golden age of Italian travel into a living, moving design experience.

Italian Design Meets Modern Wanderlust

Drawing inspiration from the creative legacies of Italian design icons such as Cini Boeri, Claudio Salocchi, and Mario Marenco, the train’s interiors channel the cultural energy of the 1960s and ’70s. Layered into this are nods to influential Italian artists like Giuseppe Capogrossi and Enrico Castellani, creating a multi-sensory environment where art, architecture, and travel converge.

From the rich walnut wood paneling to the jewel-toned velvets, every material has been handpicked to evoke Italian elegance. Polished brass details and custom mid-century lighting further enhance the immersive ambiance—inviting travellers to slow down and savour every detail.

“Our vision was to create something that feels inherently timeless,” says Salci. “It’s not nostalgic, but it holds memory. The past and present live here together.”
