Inside Faena New York, Manhattan’s Most Anticipated New Luxury Hotel

A newly opened luxury hotel in New York City, blending art, architecture, dining and wellness into a design-driven destination.

Faena New York has recently opened in the heart of Manhattan, overlooking the High Line at 500 West 18th Street. Marking the long-anticipated arrival of the Faena brand in New York, the hotel introduces a maximalist, culture-led vision of luxury hospitality following its celebrated chapters in Buenos Aires and Miami Beach.

Conceived by founder Alan Faena, the property is imagined as a living canvas where art, architecture, performance, dining and wellness unfold as a single narrative. Decadent, expressive and unapologetically theatrical, Faena New York channels the city’s creative energy while offering a richly immersive world of its own.

Architecture: A Sculptural Presence on the High Line

Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, the building rises above West Chelsea with contemporary clarity and sculptural intent. Its glass façade captures the changing light of the Hudson River, anchoring itself within one of Manhattan’s most culturally vibrant corridors.

Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the interiors with natural light, framing cinematic views across the river and skyline. From sunrise over the water to dusk settling across the Empire State Building, the architecture becomes both observatory and stage.

Interiors: Maximalism with Old New York Glamour

Conceived by the Faena Design Team in collaboration with British designer Peter Mikic, the interiors unfold as richly layered tableaux. Bold patterns, symbolic motifs and sumptuous textures reference Faena’s Argentine heritage while drawing inspiration from the theatrical glamour of old New York.

The journey begins in The Cathedral, the soaring lobby space anchored by Diego Gravinese’s monumental mural, The Sefirotic Journey. Here, art is not decorative but architectural, setting the emotional tone for the entire property.

Situated on the second floor, The Living Room forms the social nucleus of Faena New York, a space designed to evolve seamlessly from relaxed daytime encounters to glamorous evenings underscored by music and conversation. Two Deco-inspired bars anchor the room, surrounded by richly upholstered lounges, intimate seating clusters and cocktail tables that encourage lingering. A terrace overlooking the High Line introduces an unexpected moment of calm above the city, ideal for golden-hour aperitifs or late-night gatherings framed by the skyline.

Faena Art & The Plaza

Integral to the property’s identity is Faena Art, the non-profit organisation dedicated to commissioning cross-disciplinary works that bring art into everyday life. Through installations, performances and site-specific commissions, the programme extends beyond gallery walls into the public realm. At the front of the hotel, The Plaza becomes an open cultural stage—an inviting space for creative encounters, moments of pause and community engagement, underscoring Faena’s belief that art should be both accessible and transformative.

Glass murals by Argentine artist Juan Gatti celebrate New York’s architectural mythology, while a 160-foot gallery—featuring a Keith Haring original created for the Montreux Jazz Festival, connects The Living Room to the more intimate enclaves of El Secreto and La Cava, weaving downtown artistic heritage into the hotel’s cultural fabric.

Throughout the hotel, deco flourishes meet contemporary craft, creating spaces that feel indulgent yet intelligent, dramatic yet deeply considered. It is maximalism with purpose, immersive without excess.

Rooms & Suites: An Urban Dreamscape

Faena New York features 120 guestrooms and suites, each defined by sculptural furnishings, tactile materials and carefully composed palettes. Floor-to-ceiling glazing ensures that the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline remain constant companions.

At the pinnacle sits the Faena Suite, a two-storey private residence accessed by dedicated elevator. With three king bedrooms, a landscaped terrace, a baby grand piano and panoramic views stretching from the Hudson River to the Empire State Building, it reimagines city living as immersive theatre.

Experience- Led Dining & Drinking In Style

La Boca, celebrated Argentine chef Francis Mallmann brings the elemental theatre of his Patagonian fire-cooking to the heart of Manhattan. Conceived as a tribute to Buenos Aires’ most storied neighbourhood, the restaurant is both evocative and immersive, layered with colour, craft and narrative. Pop-art murals by Edgardo Giménez animate the walls, while bespoke chandeliers by Alberto Garutti lend a sculptural glow. The menu follows Mallmann’s signature philosophy—open flames, bold flavours and a reverence for provenance—creating a dining experience that feels at once primal and poetic.

Tierra Santa Healing House

Opening in late spring 2026, Tierra Santa Healing House will introduce Faena’s distinctive wellness philosophy to New York through a 17,000-square-foot sanctuary devoted to restoration and ritual. A hammam, multiple water experiences, treatment suites and movement studios are complemented by bespoke therapies rooted in South American healing traditions, enriched with indigenous ingredients and advanced longevity practices. The concept centres on reconnection—of body, spirit and environment—offering a counterpoint to the city’s relentless rhythm.

Faena Theater

Debuting in winter 2026, the Faena Theater will channel the glamour of Old Hollywood through a richly imagined, intimate performance space featuring artwork by Andrés Reisinger. Designed as a venue for ambitious productions and the brand’s acclaimed cabaret performances, it reinforces Faena’s commitment to theatricality, storytelling and cultural immersion.

Every element of Faena New York—from architecture and interiors to cuisine, art and programming—has been conceived as part of a larger narrative. It is a place where hospitality becomes a form of cultural expression, inviting guests not simply to stay, dine or unwind, but to step into an environment shaped by imagination, symbolism and a profound attention to detail.
